As many of you may know, Adam and I have decided to pull Myles from “preschool” for the rest of the year. Unfortunately, his separation anxiety was only getting worse no matter what we did to try to correct it, including switching him to half days instead of full days. He was now upset 1 full hour out of the 3 hours he was there. We ultimately decided that he is just too young and that we will try again next year. This was not a decision that was taken lightly by any means at all and took us a very long time to come to the realization that it was what was best for Myles.
Before we pulled him from school for the year, he and I got to experience a field trip together with the school. What a blast that was!! It was at Upland Hills Farm in Oxford, MI. Myles and I were SOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited! This is us before leaving the house and then once there.
Upon arrival, we met with his school group and were led to a hay ride that took us to the back of the farm and dropped us off to walk though the enchanted forest.
Througout our walk, we encountered many fairy villages with different themes. There were lots of little nick nacks here and there, floating in trees, buried in the ground, fairy doors, etc.
We then got back on the hay ride to go explore the animals! We saw ducks, goats, llamas, cows, turkeys, pigs, and more! Our tour guide was great and very patient. The kids each got to milk the cow if they wanted to… of course, Myles did not want to LOL.
After our tour was over, we went into a barn and ate lunch then went and picked our pumpkins then headed home. I did not get any pics of us eating or pumpkin picking. Myles started to get super cranky so I wanted to get him out of there. This would be the reason he was losing his temper….
We had an absolute blast! So glad this was an experience we got to have together. We owe Seasons of Learning so much and greatly appreciate everything they have done to work with us the past 3 months. Myles will be back there to try school again next year for sure!
