I see a ton of my friends and family posting on Facebook or asking me in person if there are any apps we use to help save money. Answer: THERE IS!!! There are three primary apps we use to help us save/make money and here they are:
Digit analyzes your income and spending, and finds small amounts of money it can safely set aside for you every few days.
Every day, Digit tries to transfer some money from your checking account to your Digit savings. They never transfer more than you can afford, so you don’t have to worry about over-drafting your account. In fact, they have a no-overdraft guarantee. I set mine to not withdraw at all if my account is under $500.
When you need your savings, send Digit a text message. Digit will transfer the money from your Digit savings back to your checking account next business day.
Digit allows unlimited transfers, with no minimums, and no fees.
Watch your savings automatically grow over time! We have saved approximately $1700 in 9 months without even noticing it. It is thought free saving at its best!
Digit is free for 100 days and only $2.99 per month after that. When we started using Digit it was completely free. They changed it to charging a monthly fee and Adam and I discussed it. We decided that it was totally worth the fee and to stick with it. The best part though is if you decide you don’t like it, you can cancel within the 100 days and never pay a fee!
If you do decide you like it, you can share with your friends and family and get free money!! Just like I am doing now!
The Acorns app allows you to save and invest money but rounding your daily purchases up to the nearest dollar and investing those cents. The app can also help identify and gather found money, such as rebates and rewards, which can be swept into a customer’s investment account.
I really know NOTHING about investing so having an app that can do that for me is great! We have a recurring investment of $20 a month (you can choose how much you want to invest) and then round ups are turned on. All of these options are customizable.
“Acorns has made micro investing possible through its proprietary investment platform. The brokerage and advisory functions are operated algorithmically while the proprietary back-end technologies aggregate order-processing and clearing functions, repopulating data via the cloud. Acorns works with external developers who wish to use the platform to transform rewards programs into investable cash.” – taken from Acorns Facebook account.
Using this app we have saved/invested about $300 in 3 months.
Again, If you do decide you like it, you can share with your friends and family and get free money!! Just like I am doing now!
There is a $1 per month fee that is taken out of your account. So far, again, we feel this fee is worth it.
This app is a little different than the above two. This is a shopping rebate app.
How it works is you look up rebates and add the products to your list before shopping. Buy the products you selected at any of the participating stores. Redeem the rebates by taking a picture of your receipt. Receive the cash withing 48 hours.
You can also recieve rebates from in-app purchases. All of your rebate money can be transferred to a PayPal account, Venmo, or a gift card of your choice as soon as you earn $20.
It’s super simple and there is no fee! The only downfall I have found is that I buy more than I was originally going to.
I am working on another app but just started 3 days ago so I don’t want to advertise it if we don’t like it =) Happy savings!!
